RESOURCES
Please see below a number of great resources to help keep you, your family and community safe.
The Emergency+ app is a free app developed by Australia’s emergency services and their Government and industry partners.
The app uses GPS functionality built into smart phones to help a Triple Zero (000) caller provide critical location details required to mobilise emergency services
The Red Cross First Aid app is a free, comprehensive pocket guide to first aid and CPR, giving you access to the most up to date first aid information anytime, anywhere.
Emergencies can strike at anytime, anywhere and without warning. The good news is, it's easy to protect yourself, the people you love and the things you value most.
Hazards Near Me shows current information about local emergencies, including flood, bushfire and tsunamis, and advice on what to do to stay safe. The app can send you push notifications when there are new incidents or when information changes.
We’ve seen the devastating impact that bush fires can have – on people, properties and communities.
It’s important you take the time now to get ready for bush fires.
It can take as little as five minutes to make your plan. Discuss it with your family so you know what you will do in the event of a fire.
Fire Danger Ratings are issued during the bush fire danger period. The Fire Danger Rating gives you an indication of how dangerous the weather conditions are on any given day. The higher the rating, the more dangerous the conditions if a fire was to start in your area.
The Bureau of Meteorology is Australia's national weather, climate and water agency. Its expertise and services assist Australians in dealing with the harsh realities of their natural environment, including drought, floods, fires, storms, tsunami and tropical cyclones. Through regular forecasts, warnings, monitoring and advice spanning the Australian region and Antarctic territory, the Bureau provides one of the most fundamental and widely used services of government.
NSW State Emergency Service (SES) is an emergency and rescue service dedicated to assisting the community. We are a volunteer-based organisation that provides emergency assistance to the people of NSW 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. It is the approximately 9,000 volunteers across the state that make this possible. NSW SES Volunteers come from all walks of life, bringing with them many different skills, interests and backgrounds. They are united by the purpose of supporting their communities in times of need.
Fire, flood and road traffic incidents along with other emergency warnings in the Singleton Council LGA collected and mapped in one place.
The DPI Combined Drought Indicator (CDI) is an interactive tool that provides a snapshot of current seasonal conditions for NSW, factoring in rainfall, soil moisture and modelled pasture/crop growth indices. By accounting for the effectiveness of rainfall, the CDI provides a more comprehensive indicator of drought conditions.
